Scrap charging crane

Scrap charging cranes are heavy duty and high speeds cranes and usually used to charge furnaces. In many cases, charging cranes are also used for handling molten metal. In this case safety is a key issue and redundancy like teeming cranes shall be considered.

This type of cranes consists of a Double Girder crane with a main hoist and an auxiliary hoist, which is intended for maintenance work and slag removal.

Because the ambient temperature in main saloon because of heat emitting from the furnace is high most of the time, heat shield against the flames is considered and the crane designed to operate in the high temperatures.
